Boulder Modern

On Wednesday, February 17th, as part of the City of Boulder's Landmarks Board and Preservation Program Lecture and Film Series, a talk will be given highlighting some of the amazing mid-century modern buildings built in Boulder between 1950 and 1970.  This was a vibrant time for the development of the city with the population doubling twice over in two decades.  Along with that growth came the flowering of a remarkable creative spirit that saw Boulder transform from a sleepy college town to the funky, alternative place that it is today - 25 square miles surrounded by reality.

This talk was developed by Marcy Cameron, architectural historian and City of Boulder Preservation staff along with Mark Gerwing, and was presented at the recent Colorado Preservation Inc. Saving Places conference.

On February 17th the talk will be presented by James Hewat, City of Boulder Preservation staff, along with Mark Gerwing.
